About

 Your Hawaii Shopaholics:

My name is Ashley Dougherty, aka Hawaii’s Coupon Queen, and I started the Hawaii Shopaholics website for Couponers in Hawaii to help educate that it is possible to save money in paradise!

Hawaii is one of the most expensive states, but I have managed to walk out of many stores with free products and have even been paid money to take products out of Walmart and the Comissary.  Thanks to coupons!  This website should help Hawaii residents save money with coupon match ups to sales advertisements, printable coupon links, online shopping deals, freebies and sweepstakes.

It is possible to live a frugal lifestyle in paradise!

I started to live a frugal lifestyle when I started working my first full time job.  I worked hard for the money I earned and wanted to find a way to stretch every dollar.  As a second generation couponer, I watched my mom cut and use coupons while I was growing up.  Many of our family friends from when I was young, said I sure did follow in my mom’s footsteps.  They said my mom had a coupon for everything and is known for getting a bunch of items for free!  When I moved out on my own, I started a subscription to the weekend paper just for the Sunday coupons.  Than, I stumbled upon printable coupons and the savings really started to add up.

My main goal with this website is to teach people it is possible to get free items and save 50% on your grocery bill with coupons in the beautiful state of Hawaii!

Happy Shopping!

By the way that is my hubby in the background of the picture above; he is also a Shopaholic!  He is in the United States Navy and I am a proud Military Spouse.

Hi! When are you teaching the class in April? I am on maternity leave right now from work, and would like to attend all three classes (if possible) in April. Also, would you consider having someone with a newborn in your class in March?

    All the best,
    Martha

All Hawaii Shopaholics events are Kid Friendly. I do not mind if it is a newborn, toddler, teenager or whatever. I have not scheduled a Class in April yet. Keep an eye out on the Website and Facebook wall for when I do schedule the next class. Will probably be the second week in April. Are you looking for a Day, Evening or Weekend class?

    Dear Ashley; 3/16/12
I am so proud of you for starting a couponing buiness for yourself here and also for teaching others. I too collect coupons but I don’t always use them all. I am on a fixed income cause my husband is retired and I only work part-time. My question to you is, is their a way that I could get your mailing address so that I could send you the coupons that I don’t use. Otherwise, I’m only going to throw them away. Thanks Louise

Email hawaiishopaholics@yahoo.com. Also please do not throw coupons away. Donate them to military in foreign countries. They can use them 6 months past the expiration date. Here is more information: http://hawaiishopaholics.com/archives/category/mail-expired-coupons-to-military-overseas

I am so glad I saw you on Midweek. I was convinced I couldn’t successfully coupon here in Hawaii because of prices being so different from the mainland. I am happy to see you are doing this. I cup coupons out every week but I don’t know how to go about starting. I am completely overwhelmed, I think I need your class..lol

Roxanne go to the right side of the website and read and watch the videos under “Start Here” and also read the Store Breakdown. Also, every week I do coupon match ups to the sales ads. Look at them every week. You may come across printables you never knew existed. We also have a search engine on our website so if you are in search of a particular coupon search for it. There are a ton of coupons online you just have to find them. If you have any questions let me know. Like us on facebook as well!
